Summary:
Responsible for the entire IT network and systems infrastructure from datacenter to office and desktop and provides excellent systems availability and technical operations.
Job Duties:
- Directly responsible for the day-to-day support, maintenance, helpdesk based incident tracking and vendor escalations for the enterprise network ensuring 24/7 availability of services and infrastructure
- Directly responsible for network and firewall performance, capacity planning, patch management, audit compliance, security patching and software levels and system redundancy and disaster planning
- Responsible for developing clear, comprehensive and integrated technical and product architectures (Voice, Video, Data) which support current and future business direction while minimizing business impact and maximizing availability of the enterprise network
- Directly responsible for maintaining strategic and tactical partnerships with network and telecomm vendors.
- Accountable for network architecture including hardware and software research, evaluation and recommendation
- Participate in network and telecommunication projects or subprojects of strategic impact such as vendor RFP’s, migrations across WAN, LAN, Voice and wireless/mobile platforms. For such projects, responsible for development of all system testing strategies, plans, cases and conditions and testing results
- Make recommendations to improve process efficiency and effectiveness; review major architectural designs standards and configurations to ensure consistency, maintainability and flexibility with respect to overall system, technical and product architectures
- Create and maintain all IT network documentation, policies and procedures
- Install, configure, deploy and troubleshoot server/desktop/workstation/network hardware and software, including but not limited to: Rack servers, Network switches, Firewalls, Virtualization Software, Power protection and distribution, Desktop PCs and peripherals, Monitoring network equipment, traffic, server performance and Configuring
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong process and analytical skills with the ability to manage various initiatives in a deadline driven environment
- Any form of Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Amazon AWS) experience
- Proficiency with Cisco network equipment
Education and Experience:
- Associates’ degree or equivalent certifications/training/experience in information technology, computer science, engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a network/systems administrator role
