Summary:
Design, build, and implement network systems across the enterprise, with particular focus on edge devices and security. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, firewalls, VPN servers, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
Job Duties:
- Acts as subject matter expert on voice and data network configurations
- Performs network and VOIP hardware and software deployment and maintenance including but not limited to new deployments, upgrades and security patches
- Interfaces with vendors, auditors, and Information Security teams to ensure security is maintained and integrated into all network connectivity activities
- Produces and interprets network security analysis reports, accurately maintains security design documentation and information
- Performs phone equipment installation and participates in the design process
- Participates as a Subject Matter Expert in architectural and design reviews
- Makes recommendations on existing projects to improve WAN communications
- Serves as an escalation point for network and VOIP issues within IT
- Provides high level escalation for network outages and troubleshooting tickets
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong practical knowledge of network and operating systems, including Cisco IOS, NXOS, or Palo Alto PANOS
- Extensive application support experience with LAN and WAN technologies such as MPLS, POE, IPSEC, VPN, GRE, and the like
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, BGP, IPSEC, and L2TP
- Familiarity with authentication protocols such as TACACS, RADIUS, and LDAP. Experience with Cisco ACS preferred
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience with Cisco and Palo Alto equipment
- Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools, including IPSLA, NBAR, and Solarwinds Orion
- Experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, DLP and other network security solutions
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws such as HIPPA, PCI, and PII
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Education and Experience:
