Summary:
Responsible for installation, service and maintenance of computer-based integrated electronic security systems including access control, video, intrusion detection, intercom, and other alarm systems.
Job Duties:
- Responds to customer requests for on-site install/repair and perform scheduled maintenance of equipment to high standards and to the satisfaction of customers
- Prepares for installations, upgrades, repairs, and disconnects by reviewing work orders; obtaining necessary equipment, supplies and tools; and evaluating install location and access points
- Installs equipment, running and pulling cable, programming and calibrating equipment while adhering to codes, regulations and standards
- Read schematics, diagrams, blue prints, technical documentation etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnostics
- Diagnoses/troubleshoots security systems issues accurately and in a timely fashion
- Ensures security systems are functioning correctly and with optimal performance by testing equipment and connections and identifying and correcting any issues
- Proactively identify product/service sales opportunities at client sites and processes work order modifications as necessary
- Completes required paperwork (timesheets, service orders, forms, inventory, expense reports, and equipment related items)
- Adheres to procedures and safety requirements as appropriate
- Maintain Base-Wide Electronic Security systems for access control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection
Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals
- Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and blueprints
- Working knowledge of Ohm's law, stationary batteries, and electronic theory
- Ability to evaluate the operating conditions of equipment
- Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Mechanical aptitude
- Clear, concise, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Electronics
- 4+ years of hands on electronics experience
