Summary:
Design, develop, test, implement and maintain data and database objects across multiple database and applications. The candidate will interface directly with business analysts, web developers, and/or business intelligence developers.
Job Duties:
- Database administration, specifically for Oracle and/or SQL Server
- Work with vendors to understand new database technologies and to work through technical problems with existing technologies
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Maintain and adhere to database standards and develop new standards as appropriate
- Ensure that proper documentation is being developed for the purposes of sharing information and establishing standard processes and configurations
- Monitor database performance and participate in resolution of any performance issues.
- Participate in project teams delivering new business functionality
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge and 5+ years of Database Administration experience with Oracle v11.2.0.4 and/or Oracle v12.1, including database upgrades and patching
- Installation and maintenance experience with Data Guard for database high availability
- RAC experience would be a nice-to-have
- Strong skills in database performance tuning
- Actual hands-on experience with troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues in an Oracle database
- Excellent UNIX/LINUX skills
- Experience using Perl and Shell Scripting languages
- Experience supporting multiple project development teams and numerous database environments throughout the application development life cycle
- Excellent collaboration skills with a proven track record in working with other areas of Information Technology to evaluate, plan and implement database solutions
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, presentation. Ability to communicate well at all levels of the I.T. organization
- Strong ability to determine database capacity needs to meet Service Level Agreements
- Ability to bring concepts to reality

- Strong team orientation
- 3+ years of experience in SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 database administration is a real plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field math, engineering, economics, business, marketing or related discipline (or relevant experience)
- Minimum 4 years of analysis experience utilizing SQL in a relevant field
