Summary:
Receives assignments and performs tasks following specifications, procedures, and other special instructions. Technician will review test requests, specifications/procedures and confirm their interpretation with engineer, supervisor, project lead, and/or customer to ensure the correct test implementation. Evaluate results and communicate effectively with others. Address issues in an effective, expedited manner.
Job Duties:
- Perform test requests according to the specification
- Complete technical reports and associated test documentation
- Suggest and implement solutions to problems encountered with different testing techniques
- Elevate issues to upper management when required
- Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results
- Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of tasks. Works under direct supervision
Skills and Qualifications:
- Willing to learn MS Office, especially Word and Excel
- Ability to resolve issues by applying creative thinking
- Ability to think and act globally
- Ability to resolve issues or propose resolution to responsible parties
- Ability to work well independently
- Soldering
- Familiar with Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Voltage and Current Laws and able to apply to: Basic test circuit setup, correctly configure power supplies in parallel or series to obtain the required current or voltage and to determine basic circuit power requirements
- Select equipment and chambers to meet test requirements based on equipment technical documentation
- Suggest and implement solutions to problems encountered with different testing techniques
- Develop expertise on specific equipment and types of tests
- Knowledgeable of electrical safety
Education and Experience:
- Relevant technical or equivalent Associate’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical desired
